This sale is for one early 80188 CPU chip as shown. These are new old stock chips in the original cut tape packaging. They are not discolored, scratched, or corroded and in perfect collectible condition as they came from the factory.  I decapped one of them for the inside views.

This chip was state of the art 40 years ago. In 1982, this processor was a real powerhouse of it's time. It had a 1 byte wide bus, could do 1 MIPS (Million instructions Per Second), and address 1 Megabyte of memory.

3um NMOS process technology was used to implement the 55,000 transistors, and like it's sister chip (the 80186) it was compatible with the 8087 floating point unit.

Intel later built several updated versions and speed grades of the 80188 as the Embedded and Personal Computer market boomed. These processors became so popular, Intel continued production of the 80188 for over two decades. That's an incredible lifespan for any CPU.
