Antique Ojime Bead Meiji Period Japan Mount Silver Fuji Monk Netsuke Into

These are beads are magnificent in their artistry. Their attention to detail is simply wonderful.

This bead depicts a Silver Monk with its Gold hat sitting on one side looking toward the silver Mount Fuji on the other side. Looking at the side of the Monks hat it looks like the gold is just on the surface. The base material maybe iron, with a patina. There appears to be seam lines on both the top and bottom of the bead. This bead is a mixed metal, with an insert to prevent any cord from fraying. There is a second Monk bead, with the Monk in Gold, see our other listings.

The bead has not been cleaned, nor has the metal on bead been tested. Did not want to alter the bead in any way. Any reference to a specific metal is due to a visual inspection. Bead is magnetic.
