Offered
here is a - Vintage Federal Glass Co. - Dura-White Milk-Glass, Dual-Band Upper-Edge-Style,
Round, Nesting MIXING-BOWL - Extra-Large-Size 9-IN -
in most-excellent lightly-gently-used condition. Probably manufactured in the 1960’s or so.
This Mixing-Bowl is clean and shiny - Interior glass surfaces are highly-glossy; Exterior surface is glossy. This Mixing Bowl has no obvious chips, cracks nor flea-bites. There are a couple patches of bits of colour loss which follows the milk-glass swirl-lines. Colour top-coat, whether in graphics or of solid colour, tends to peel up along along the glass swirl lines - even when gently hand-washed. Otherwise - the are also some flecks of colour loss; a few fine scratches into the colour; a raised bump in the glass at the top edge and another smaller raised bit of glass; a tiny pin-prick to the top edge; some faint rubs, scratches or incidental contact marks; some stack wear to the interior surface - looks barely-used; some faint milk-glass swirl lines; some rub-wear to the base seat-rim; a little utensil contact marking to the exterior surface.
The colour top-coat is mid-green - a mid avocado or moss green. There doesn't seem to be any fade to the colour.
The glass has great translucence - nice weight & feel.
This Mixing-Bowl has Federal's ICONIC, molded, vertical-stepped double-band pattern at the top edge.
This Mixing-Bowl is embossed on the center-base - Orange-peel texture, smooth center – “HEAT PROOF; U.S.A.; Stylized “F” on Shield” - making it from a later-release manufacture-era.
