Here is a superb porcelain jewelry box from the Art Nouveau period.

It is hand painted with flowers and gilt by hand to imitate gilt bronze mounts.

The box stands on a gilt bronze base.

This work is typical from the creations of Paul Louchet.

It is signed "Louchet Fondeur Paris".


Paul Louchet was a painter, a sculptor, a bronze maker and a chaser.

His workshop was located at 3, rue Auber in the 9th arrondissement of Paris. He signs his Art Nouveau style creations with the brand "Louchet Fondeur Paris". 

Friend of Louis Majorelle, Jean Daum and René Lalique, he was president of the union chamber of bronze manufacturers. 

Paul Louchet won gold at the Universal Exhibition of 1900 and won a grand prize at the exhibitions of Saint-Louis, Liège and Milan. Appointed Knight of the National Order of the Legion of Honor by decree of July 13, 1908.
