2016 ALDERNEY £5 REMEMBRANCE DAY COLORIZED POPPIES NGC MS69 FIRST RELEASES

Background
The Remembrance Day coin for 2016 was created by Royal Mint coin designer Thomas Doherty, who was inspired by traditional symbols of remembrance for his tribute. The moving inscription, ’their name liveth for evermore‘, features in Remembrance Day ceremonies across the country. A wreath of poppies enhanced by colour-printing, a technique usually reserved for Proof coins, highlights this vibrant symbol of remembrance and hope. The coin is endorsed by Imperial War Museums, and a donation from every coin SOLD WAS made to the organization to support their important work.
