Every collection of sewing machines should have a Singer class 12 machine; the most successful and most copied machine of the nineteenth century. It is worth the collector waiting for a machine in super condition, like this one.

This machine was made in 1883 at the Bridgeton, Glasgow, factory of the Singer Mfg. Co., before the Clydebank factory was built.  It has the panelled walnut slide-on cover which preceded the round-topped plywood cover.  The decoration has survived with remarkably little loss.  There is no nickel plating on the flywheel rim or shuttle covers etc as Bridgeton had no nickel plating plant.  The mechanism is clean and free of rust.  The lock on the cover works and has its key.

It comes with an original instruction book and a complete set of Singer 12 attachments.

Please study the photographs as they are part of the description.

This machine is for collection only.
