DESCRIPTION:
Great original painted surfaces and great form make this a great early 20th century American vintage four quart motor oil/watering pouring can, with terrific chalky red and mint green enamel paint. No noticeable, major or depreciating dings or dents mar its form or sidewalls, hollow pouring spout or attached hollow hand grasp. The can was most likely originally designed to be a four quart motor oil pouring can for quickly and easily filling a car or truck's engine with the needed motor oil for it to function properly and be sufficiently lubricated. At some point it seems, the motor oil can was decommissioned as an oil can and possibly decorated with the red and green paint on it now, to either designate the weight of the motor oil held in it, differentiating it from other motor oil pouring cans or making it more decorative and a more appropriate watering can for maintaining gardens, plant beds and potted flowers in the home. There's a few slight, minor scuffs and abrasions on its sidewalls. Just terrific paint and original dry, matte surfaces. Too cool for school.
