This accomplished late 19th c./early 20th c. watercolor on paper has a larger-than-life trout leaping out of a tree-lined stream. It is signed "E. H. George" lower left and is extravagantly framed incorporating six hand-tied fishing flies.

Esther Harriet Borough Johnson née George (1866-1958) married the artist Ernest Borough Johnson in 1903 and thereafter painted using his surname. She had a successful career exhibiting her works at the Royal Academy in London, the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours, etc.

Sight: 12" x 8 1/2". Matted and framed to: 23" x 17 1/2". 

Condition: Very good condition (not examined out of frame).
