Moldavian flat-woven carpets have a special manufacturing technology that differs from the rest. Making carpets on the territory of Moldova has deep roots and is considered a traditional, folk art. Unlike other nations, Moldavian carpets were made mostly by women. Men took part in material preparation works only.

Making woven carpets is a very laborious work, as the drawing is obtained by constantly counting the warp and weft yarns, carrying a multi-colored weft yarn through each frame warp thread. They call it "to pick up the carpet" on the north and center of Moldova which comes from the fact that the carpet is created as a picture, only with the help of short woolen threads that are recruited one by one.

Mihailyanskaya is a 100% wool carpet with a cotton frame. It was made on the North of the Moldova in 1984. Carpet was never used and kept safe from moisture, moths and sunlight. The colors are rich. Does not need any repair or treatment and can be used immediately. It looks especially good in the modern interior. Can be fold like a textile.
