Description :

Interchangeable ultra-fast lens with coated optics for rangefinder cameras. Equipped with an iris diaphragm.


Renamed Carl Zeiss Sonnar 1.5/50 trophy lens 1). Initially produced under the name ZK (Zonnar Krasnogorsky), then - Jupiter-3.


In 1954, due to the depletion of stocks of captured optical glass 2), it was recalculated for domestic brands. At the same time, the design of the frame was slightly changed, in particular, the diaphragm setting ring was redesigned. Serial production of a modified version began in 1955.


Since 1956, the lens has been produced by the Zagorsk Optical and Mechanical Plant (ZOMZ, Zagorsk, now Sergiev Posad), and since the late 1970s, at the Jupiter plant in Valdai.


Mounting options: with attachment to the camera M39 × 1 / 28.8, with a bayonet connection of the Kyiv-Contax type, it was planned to release it for the Comet camera.

The release by the State Optical Institute (GOI) of a bayonet version of the lens for completing experimental cameras GOI-Leningrad is known.
