Framed antique print, a hand colored book plate or illustration, depicting different types of knight's gauntlets, glove armor, measuring 8" high x 10-1/2" wide (sight) overall with mat and frame:  17-1/2" high x 20" wide, has cover glass, signed in the plate: "Th. Soltukon" lower right, see close up photo, perhaps the name is Soltukov or Soltukorv, we're not sure, but after some internet research, we found that this print is a 19th century book plate from "The History of Chivalry and Ancient Armor", by German author, Dr. Franz Kottenkamp, basically a study of the weapons of knighthood, the prints possibly made by Friedrich Martin von Reibisch.  Check our other listings for more framed antique book plate prints from the same book.

Removing book illustrations from antique books, in order to frame them, was a popular idea among antique dealers and interior decorators.

Good condition, we have not removed the print from the mat and frame, sold as found, previously owned, from a local estate.
