Christian Roth, well known for the white acetate model worn by Kurt Cobain, founded Optical Affairs in 1984 and collaborated with Karl Lagerfeld for this cotton-based acetate model emulating Seashell or Tortoise. Designed in New York circa 1985, this shape became an icon in eyewear design.
