Antique Ojime Mukade Centipede Dragon Bead Netsuke Meiji Japan Inro Metals

These beads are magnificent in their artistry. Their attention to detail is simply amazing.

This bead depicts what appears to be a Mukade, a Centipede laying its eggs with 3 round circles below the Mukade; and may be a dragon, note picture #1 is taken with a flash. It the bead also has diagonal stripes.  On an oval bronze background, it does have a patina. The bead maybe a mixed metal, with an insert to prevent any cord from fraying.

The bead has not been cleaned, nor has the metal on bead been tested. Did not want to alter the bead in any way. Any reference to a specific metal is due to a visual inspection. Bead is not magnetic.

The bead may have, due to normal wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of aging; scratches, scuffs, surface imperfections, wear, tarnish, rust and/or oxidation.
