How do you know if you have MK4? You must pass the following two tests to confirm:
1.) The faceplate on your trunk mounted GPS has a white DVD logo in the middle
2.) Press the Menu button. Select Settings. If you see any of these numbers in the upper right corner, you have MK4: 4-1/00, 4-1/91, 4-1/80, 4-1/71, 4-1/70, 4-1/60, 4-1/50, 4-1/42, 4-1/40, 4-1/30, 4-1/20, 4-1/12, 4-1/04, 4-1/03, 4-1/02, 4-1/01
If you cannot pass both steps above, you either do not have the correct MK4 unit, or your unit is not working properly. Obtain a working MK4 unit for the vehicles listed above.
If you already have v32 on your system (4-1/00), you must inform me, either by message or a note in checkout so I can send you the proper product and instructions.

This is not a road map disc update. This software update of your MK4 system has nothing to do with updating the navigation road maps.
Be careful of other vendors that claim to be certified German or BMW products. There are highly hacked versions out there known as 32.x, that are not BMW certified products. They have reported issues with performance, slow imaging, and other glitches. There is a "Night Mode" hacked version floating around for the map views, but it only works in color setting 2, and it has many glitches such as hard to read street names or no street names at all, voice issues, and issues with the startup logo not displaying every time you enter the car. There is no BMW MK4 software above v32, a.k.a. 4-1/00, a.k.a. 10.00. v32 is the last and final update from BMW, and the only upgrade that is recommended to keep your car in top running OEM condition.
