Bush Arena GF 1225 Record player & HT20 Speakers Garrard Sp25 MKii Pickering V15.

Used working condition, listed as spares repairs as there is an issue with tone arm as it sticks as gets nearer the centre of disc. Have adjusted counter weight and anti skate but there doesn’t appear to be a sweet spot that suits every size of disc. Arm appears to meet more resistance from the return mechanism as it nears the middle and the point where it would engage. May need servicing or a lubrication.

Record player mounted in a oversized wooden plinth to incorporate the amplifier into it. Two pin speaker cable connectors on the rear for the two speakers that come with, Bush Arena HT20 speakers in wooden cabinets that match the box for the record player/ amp.

Next to the speakers connectors on the rear is red spigot, locate a small flat screwdriver in the top of this and turn to adjust the balance between the speakers. Also a 5 pin din port for connection to a tape player. Have tested this with a 5 pin din to rca phono lead and connected to a tape player and also tested with a CD player both play well with amp in this way. I will include this lead in the sale.

Three silver knobs on the front first is on/off and volume combined, the other two are I think Bass and Treble (some of the type in this area has worn off, see photos) system and speakers sound better with these two set between low and 50%

Record player is a Garrard SP25 mk 11 (MKii or Mk2)

Plays 16, 33, 45 and 78 rpm records

There is an auto return mechanism in the arm which when it reaches the runout in the Center of the disc the arm lifts and returns to the arm rest beside the platter. Return mechanism Doesn’t engage every time, I was having a little problem with stylus sticking in a groove as we got close to the centre. I thought I Got around this by adjusting counter weight and the anti skate dial on side of arm. Possibly as a consequence the arm now just stays in the runout. Record player hasn’t been used for a long time before testing it, and it may now need a service.

Cartridge and stylus are by Pickering, Plainville N.Y. USA a V-15/ V-AC2, old used condition still working well.

Wooden housing for record player has some wear. Much of the type and black lines on the right side of metal plate on the front side of player has worn off over the years. The black painted wood lower section of housing has wear and some of the black paint has worn away, just needs a small amount of fresh paint on it.

Wooden lid is very good, some wear and marks on edges and corners. Top of one has a small amount of pen on it, some in red some in black.

Both speaker nets still have their Arena emblems on top left corner. Nets are good on the left hand speaker, on the right one the bottom edge and bottom right corner of the net has worn away with use and time, see photos
