Can you use this?

You are looking at a very used vintage GRETSCH DRUMS 9x13 tom tom drum shell.

The drum came to me like this.

This is a thin ply shell.

The size is 9x13.

It has no reinforcement rings.

It now takes one six hole 13 inch rim.

This is a six lug drum shell, per side.

It needs six lugs now.

Tom mount hole pattern would be a typical diamond plate. .

This one has no serial number or paper tag anymore.

Year is about 1970 give or take ten years?  I am no Gretsch expert, help me if you can.

Parts are missing, it's just a shell.

The badge is also gone.

Whoever had it made it into a concert tom and plugged the lower holes for the lower lugs.

It originally was a two headed drum with 12 lugs and two rims and two tone controls.

The six original tone control holes have been filled and painted over.

A new set of three holes were put in the panel they must have wanted a tone control muffler in.

And then it got painted white outside.

The silver paint inside is probably not original either.

This drum shell will be a project, for a player.

Photos show the flaws.

The drum is ready to go, and you can further do what you want to it.

This is a project, and has no collectible value, but might be a nice light addition to someone's player's kit.

This shell itself weighs 2 pounds and 4.8 ounces.

If you can use this shell, don’t miss out.

Someone asked "How are the bearing edges? Is there still an edge on both sides?"

I wrote back "I got the drum shell out to check it.

It is hard for me to tell about these bearing edges.

Both sides seem flat, and white paint is on one side, the other side has less paint.
I did try the shell up against flat glass, and there is no tilt or wobble.
But the edges seem flat to me.
The only original Gretsch tom I have too compare it to is a 70s stop sign badge black concert tom.
That edge has a bit of an inner tip to it, but also seems somewhat flat.
I took 5 photos of the shell on eBay, attached,
Thank you for asking.

Any more questions, please ask."

Someone else asked "what is the center of hole to center of hole"

I took two photos and it looks to be 1+1/4 inches.

Thank you again for asking.

If you have any more helpful information, I’d be happy to post it.

As shown.

Please ask about condition.....
if the photos do not seem to tell the whole story,  they are part of the description,
ask, before you bid, please.

Any other questions?
