Pelican Figurine Flower Frog in Rare Striped
August Walther & Sohne Float Bowl

This is an art deco large pretty Pelican or Pelikan float bowl.  It features two Pelicans in the figurine that sits into the flower frog.  It is a good quality figurine and the float bowl is very heavy and was made in Dresden Germany the Depression era 1920's and 1930's.

The white frosted figurine feature two Pelicans, a mother and young. The figurine is 7.5 inches or 19cm high.  The foot of the figurine is 2 inches or 5 cm across.  The figurine is 8.5 inches or 21.5cm high when sitting in the flower frog.

The Pelicans figurine is frosted and the foot is clear.  There are mould lines and a vertical fissure, that is hard to see in the clear foot of the figurine.  There are a few air bubbles in the glass which is typical for glass made in this era.  I have mentioned all of these issues for accuracy.  The figurine is in good condition for its age, nearly 100 years old, getting close to antique.

The frosted flower frog is 4 & 3/8 inches or 11cm in diameter and 2 & 3/8 inches or 6cm high.  There is one chip in the top rim of the flower frog as you can see in the photos.  When the Pelican Figurine is in the flower frog the chip is covered and you can't see it.

The bowl is extremely rare, it has brown gingery streaks all through the bowl.  It is frosted on the back of the bowl and clear on the inside.  The bowl has lovely frilly patterns around the edge of the bowl.  You do not see these bowls anymore, they are scarce and very hard to find.

The bowl is large, it is 12.5 inches or 32cm in diameter to the frills of the bowl and it stands 4 inches or 10cm high, so it is fairly tall.  The figurine and flower frog fits nicely into the bottom of the bowl.  The bowl sits on 3 feet.  There is one very tiny flake on one of the feet, which is hard to notice, there is no other damage on the bowl, it is good condition.  There are a few air bubbles in the float bowl.  There are no chips on the top rim of the bowl.

It's hard to get good photos of these bowls.  Have a look at all the photos to see the lovely colour and condition.  The whole float bowl is in very good condition for its age with no cracks and only the minor imperfections described above.

I know what it is like to get broken items and feel bitterly disappointed when they are not wrapped properly.  I will double box this lovely Pelican Float Bowl to protect it, and make sure you get it in the same beautiful condition it is in now.  I always send by registered mail with a tracking number for your peace of mind.
