This is an amazing antique Victorian or Edwardian style Velvet Mourning Capelet. It hooks around the neck with two antique hooks and drapes across the shoulders. It is short, it’s just intended to drape the shoulders. The edges of the collar are black beaded. There is some spotting on the back of the capelet, there is some missing beading and the interior lining is torn/frayed in some places. It have not cleaned this piece due to its age and fragility. It needs attention from a competent seamstress (not me!). I have tried to show in the photos all of the condition issues. Study the photos for details or ask for more photos. This came out of an estate sale and is quite old. The neck measurement is 15” (quite small).

We offer pre-owned and/or vintage items. If pre-owned, it may have light surface scratches or need a little cleaning/polishing. We only clean and polish enough to check on condition, not to remove all patina. If an item has noticeable damage it will be noted and photographed. You must check photos for details.

When possible, all goods are sanitized, washed and dried and stored in dry, scent free containers.

We ship Monday-Friday. Things paid for after 9 on Friday will be shipped out on Monday.

Returns are accepted for 30 days after delivery. Refund is for item only unless there is a mistake in the listing.
