From a review:

Pinup model and actress Julie London produced an enduring debut album with this collection of pop standards delivered with perfect minimalism. In the 1950s, a whole lot of vocal pop was accompanied by melodramatic strings and/or big band orchestras. The approach of London's voice simply singing the songs in front of laid-back electric guitar and bass, combined with the cigarettes-after-sex tone of London's vocals, makes for very seductive listen.
