Description of item for saleThese panels were recovered from an abandoned chateau in the city of Narbonne in the south of France (see photos of the chateau at the end of the photo gallery).  They date to the late 1800's/early 1900's.  They are made from old growth fir that is in excellent condition with no woodworm or dry rot whatsoever.  Note the fine quality of construction.  They are straight and not warped in any way.  As you can see in the photos, some of the edges have chips and cracks in the first 1/2 inch and the paint is in poor condition.  If you love the highly patinated look, the surfaces could be left as-is and sealed with a clear coat.  If you prefer something more finished, they can be scraped, sanded and repainted.  Dimensions: 41" high, 19.5" wide and 1.25" thick.  (1128)
