The SV series Murphy fuel shut off solenoid valve, which is solenoid operated, is a normally closed valve that opens when current is supplied from the battery through a magnetic switch. 

Safety shut down valve for diesel engines and diesel driven pumps or compressor units.

The Murphy fuel solenoid valve is for use with diesel engines with externally accessible fuel injection pumps.

The SV series is NOT intended for use with engines having unit injectors or distributor type injection pumps. Use only with diesel fuel.
