Quartz Newsboy Wristwatch with Clockwork Newsboy Figurine Vintage 74785A
in its Presentation tin Case with has Black Marks on the top both Cases Suffer with Slight Storage Damage the Wristwatch and Figurine are both in Excellent Condition
Plain white outer box contains graphic 4x6x9.5" tall cardboard sleeve with tin top and slotted wood bottom which sleeve fits into. This contains 5.5" tall tin wind-up newsboy toy. Set also contains quartz wristwatch with newsboy on the dial and a black leather watch band. Toy has built-in key and when wound rings a bell and lowers and raises his newspaper. Newspaper is printed with "Extra Extra," "Fossil Times" etc. Toy comes with Fossil COA stating this was part of a limited series of no more than 5000. COA also mentions that toy and watch set and the following set #1433 were produced in conjunction with and toys were manufactured by the famous Japanese toy collector, Mr. Kitahara, owner of several museums in Japan containing Japanese tin toys. His company (E.K. Toys) logo is marked on the back of the newsboy and also on the clown from lot #1433 and these toys are faithful re-issues of toys from his museum that were produced in Japan during the 1950s. Original price tag is present- set was issued in 1997 at $150.00.
