Shows light wear from use and aging, including minor surface marks, scratches, and a few light dents in the side bottom lip.  It has been gently hand polished and ultrasonic cleaned in a mild dish soap, and it has nice shine, and is very clean.  It is straight, not bent, opens and closes securely, has no personal monograms or engravings, with no major issues at all.

It is hallmarked on the side B&F STERLING, hallmark for historic and listed US silversmith, Bachrach & Freedman of New York.  They are well known for their vanity and novelty silver such as this.


HISTORICAL FOOTNOTE:  The last photo shown was taken from an 1894 jewelry magazine and completely documents this mark and maker, while it also shows a perfect example of what the original bottle this cap would have been used for.
