Natural Chrome Diopside Rondelle Bead Graduated Necklace, 18K Gold Clasp

Antique Victorian Mourning Hair Bracelet with 15ct Gold Mounts/Pendant & Turquoise Accents

Product Description

A lovely antique hair bracelet from the early Victorian era, c1847. Inscribed "D Guthrie, Dec 1ST 1847" this endearing bracelet is made of human hair, along with a 15ct gold mount and pendant. Beautiful hand engraved flowers and swirl flourishes decorate the front of the gold mount and pendant, and vibrant blue turquoise cabochon stones accent each centre. The reverse of the pendant reveals a small braid of human hair behind a hand-cut bevel edge glass. It is likely a token of the dearly beloved deceased hair, indicative of the inscription on the reverse of the mount, giving us the date of this wonderful early Victorian piece! The woven hair to the bracelet is soft and has remarkable elasticity, allowing a versatile fit for either a child or lady.

An exceptional sentimental piece of woven hairwork (tablework as it was known in the day), perfect for the avid Victorian hair jewellery collector!
