Mid 60s VOX Panther bass, made in Italy. The neck is super thin and narrow for smaller fingers and/or fast playing. Width at nut is just 1 3/8" or 35mm: an eighth of an inch (3 mm) narrower than a Fender Jazz bass.

It features an unique canted single pickup with four pole pieces which is oriented to the strings at an angle to give increased bass response to the E and A strings while offering brighter tone to the D and G strings. Hard maple neck, rosewood fingerboard and single volume and tone control.

This bass is in all-original condition with a few dings and scratches to the finish (mostly on the back). It includes the original bridge cover and original knobs which are often missing on such +55 years old instruments. Like on most Eko-made Vox guitars, the pickguard has shrunk up a bit over time and has one crack at the bottom corner. For reasons unknown to me, the neckplate must have been exchanged by the previous owner some time ago because the existing one has no serial number. The Panther is strung with flatwounds for a good `ole thumpy vintage vibe. It comes in an original Vox case for protection which belonged to another vox instrument before and does not fit exactly to the bass.
