14th Century Woodcut Engraving, by Ludoph of Saxony, Jesus in the Temple, incunable or incunabulum

This original Woodcut engraving dates to 1388 and is taken from the Vita Christi (Life of Christ).

The image depicts Jesus in the Temple with the money changers.

It is the principal work of Ludolph of Saxony.  The book was a history and commentary borrowed from the Church Fathers.  It contained a series of dogmatic and moral dissertations, spiritual instructions, meditations and prayers.

This particular image shows the Virgin Mary with Jesus.

A wonderful example of a page of a book dating to the late 1300's.

The page is in excellent condition as shown in the photographs.  

Image size - 2" x 4" in a frame measuring 16" x 14".

Image is in superb condition.

This is a great example of quality, 15th Century manuscript.
