Australian Artist Ken Taber "Swamp I " Screen Printed Artwork, 51/70, 1979. The artist Ken Taber is known for his impressionist influenced paintings of dreamy, misty landscapes. This style was developed from 1979 onwards. This work is dated 1979, so is an early, original work from this period. I've also not found another screen print by him, so it seems work In this medium would be more difficult to find.

A screen-print is not to be confused with a machine made print of an artists original work. Each print is laboriously printed in layers by the artist by hand, pressing ink through a silk screen. This artwork appears to have 5 layers of ink applied. Each time a layer is applied, there is a risk that the image may be damaged, so although it is a production of 70, many more may have been discarded in the process of creating this artwork.

The actual artwork measures 34cm x 24cm and framed it measures 46.5cm x 34 5cm.

The frame In good condition with only slightly wear. The matt board has foxing and it would definitely be best to replace it. The print itself has yellowing to the paper, which is only apparent around the edges. Please view pictures carefully and ask questions.
