Only used inside. The app is not able to be downloaded any longer, however it can still be use manually by just plugging it in and pressing the button to play on loop (20 songs) or change song. I think once you put it on loop you can set it and forget it but you will have to go turn it off at the end of the night because you have no app to control it. You can use it inside on your tree you can use it inside on lights you can use it outdoors.

The unit has three outlets to connect to the unit itself to dance around and put on the light show see the pics for detail this is like new I used it maybe once inside under my tree the m and it was never used outside it never saw moisture or anything very very very lightly used. And if you do you want to use it outside with lights you can cause the speaker box has a stake and everything.
