Why do batteries stop performing?
90% of batteries do not die of old age but are literally “choked” to death by a substance known as Lead Sulphate which occurs in all Lead Acid batteries. It attaches itself to the plates within your battery and prevents a charge from being accepted thus reducing your battery’s capacity.
What is Lead Sulphate & what can we do about it?
Lead Sulphate is created when a battery is discharged. The lead from the plates combines with the electrolyte (dilute sulphuric acid) to make lead sulphate. When the battery is recharged this process is reversed however, some of the lead sulphate will crystalise on the lead plates, this acts as an insulator and reduces the plate area in contact with electrolyte thus reducing the usable area of your battery.
How Does The Unit Work?
Simply fit & forget! - The Heavy Duty Extra Life Battery Pulse uses power from the battery and returns it to the battery in the form of current pulses; little or no energy is lost. The unit will also keep the electrolyte (acid & water) contained within the battery in the best condition it can be enabling the charge & discharge to be efficient.
What Can I Use It On?
The Heavy Duty Extra Life Pulse Unit can be used on 24v or 36v Lead Acid batteries. It is recommended for use on batteries (or battery packs) greater than 150Ah. Units can be fitted together in series for larger voltages (2 units for 48v or 72v).
The unit is connected directly to your batteries using red & black 4mmSq cable fitted with 8mm ring terminals. The unit measures 100mm x 50mm x 25mm and weights 150g. The connecting wires are 550mm long. The unit is fully protected from the environment.
Some time, some day, the battery will eventually stop working, this is a fact of life but the bonus is with the Extra Life Battery Pulse, you simply detach it from the dead battery, and attach it to the new one. And what’s more; it’s guaranteed for life.
