You are bidding on an Antique U.S. Glass c.1890 "Moon and Stars" Pattern, Early American Pressed Glass" Covered Candy Compote Bowl w/ Lid. After many hours of research, I have determined this piece is U.S. Glass, and not the earlier Adams "Palace" version with the twist top, or the other companies which started reproducing after the 1930's, which this piece is clearly NOT. This covered candy dish has the early cut out base, and thin back wall on the lid edge all around. This wonderful EAPG candy dish is in excellent clean condition. There is no damage to the base, and the glass is clear and bright, no staining. The lid bottom edge, were it lays on the base rim, has 2 large flakes, and multiple flea bites, the entire way around. It was very loved, and used. A few tiny imperfections, hay marks, micro air bubbles, in the mold from factory firing. Little to no wear to bowl interior. Dish measures 6 1/2" tall by 5 7/8" across. I believe I have seen a light amethyst glow in the glass at times, sun staining, I hope! Selling as found. Shipping and handling will be $29.95 US Mail, in the continent US only, all other locations will be different. If you have questions ASK, ASK, ASK!
