Our family has made this handicraft for hundreds of years. Previously, it 

was specially produced for the emperor, but now few people like this kind 

of handicraft. My studio now focuses on modern style. Because this kind of 

handicraft is complex and time-consuming, I rarely make this kind of 

handicraft. But I don't want this skill to disappear. If it disappears, it will be 

a great loss, and I will be very sad.

Overlay Carved Glass is a traditional technique produced through a unique 

process of combining hand blowing, carving and dipping to produce the 

final form.  vessels are hand blown to their desired shape, then dipped into 

molten glass, each layer added after the previous one has cooled,Up to 

seven floors,It is a lengthy and tedious process that is time consuming and 

labor intensive.It's hundreds of years old.

The recipe is very complex. It should be carefully prepared, Especially in the 

melting process. There are few high-quality works . Among the craftsmen, 

there is a saying that nine out of ten crucibles can not be made. Therefore, 

this kind of sculpture is more precious.
