1920s J.E.Mergott Co. Brass Desk Calendar Notepad Holder The Arco Company Advert.

This calendar notepad holder is for The Arco Company that sold paints, varnishes, and lacquers. The Arco Company was founded in 1881. The J.E. Mergott Co. made similar brass desk organizers/ advertisements like this as early as 1919. Due to the slight changes in the JEMCO logos this one appears to have been made in the late 1920s (maybe 1928?).

The shown calendars in the top are from 1961 and 1962. These calendars are actually cut and folded from a 5-year pocket calendar. The tan paper behind the calendars are a cut piece of a calendar from 1956.

The top rounded edge that is above the calendars slides to the left to be able to pull the plastic and all the calendars out to replace them. There is no other display behind the calendars. It is just the bottom of the stamped logo on the top of the box. The plastic piece does have a bit of damage on the left side near the top- I have pictured if you message me.

This brass box is very dirty and scratched but I think the right person could get it cleaned up very well for display or even use again.

The paper notepad shown in the first picture is not included but the dimensions of the notepad are 5x3 inches.

The dimensions of the box are 5 3/4x 3 3/4 inches. It’s about 1 3/8 inches tall when closed and 3 7/8 inches tall when open.

This is such a cool piece with so much detail.

I did not have enough room for all of the pictures I took, so if you would like to see more please message me.

Please see all pictures for details. If you would like more pictures or have any questions please message me. All items are sold as is. Y2
