The Hotel Chelsea (also the Chelsea Hotel or the Chelsea) is a hotel in ManhattanNew York City, built between 1883 and 1885. The 250-unit hotel.

It has been the home of numerous writers, musicians, artists and actors. Though the Chelsea no longer accepts new long-term residents, the building is still home to many who lived there before the change in policy. Arthur C. Clarke wrote 2001: A Space Odyssey while staying at the Chelsea, and poets Allen Ginsberg and Gregory Corso chose it as a place for philosophical and artistic exchange. It is also known as the place where the writer Dylan Thomas was staying in room 205 when he became ill and died several days later, in a local hospital, of pneumonia on November 9, 1953, and where Nancy Spungen, girlfriend of Sid Vicious of the Sex Pistols, was found stabbed to death on October 12, 1978.  Arthur Miller wrote a short piece, "The Chelsea Affect", describing life at the Chelsea Hotel in the early 1960s.

The building has been a designated New York City landmark since 1966, and on the National Register of Historic Places since 1977.

According to Only In Your State, the Chelsea Hotel is considered by some to be one of the most haunted places in all of New York City. Since it officially opened in 1884 (per Vanity Fair), the hotel has played host to all kinds of notable artists, including writers like Mark Twain and Arthur Miller, artists like Jackson Pollock and Andy Warhol, and musicians like Janis Joplin and Bob Dylan, among many, many others. According to eyewitness accounts, spirits of deceased residents still roam the hotel's halls to this day.

The STORY of Nina is as follows:

Nina was one of four dolls used as a trigger object by a paranormal team that stayed the weekend at the hotel. Nina made contact via a word database. She told the team that when she was 8, she passed away at the hotel. Nina said she was very sick for days. her mommy and daddy didn't want to travel with her back home, they were afraid she would not make it. The found a local doctor to come look at her. he told her mommy and daddy she had a pneumonia and if they gave her some pills her gave them, she would get better. Nina did not get better. She told the team when she woke back up she was at the hotel, and it was dark and sad. She begged them to take her away. Nina asked if the dolly could be her new body. They told her yes and they would take her back with them and find her a new loving home.
