1860 Samuel Augustus Mitchell antique map of North America.

Description:

A beautiful and colorful map from the Mitchell New General Atlas, published in 1866, the map was originally entered in to Congress in 1860.  This map of the North America is historically significant, in that it shows Alaska as "Russian America" - with nice original coloring!  The map itself is set within a separately engraved ornate floral border.  A wonderful and curious map - would look tremendous framed and hung on a wall!

Condition: 

Overall, good condition.  The map has typical wear commensurate with age - minor staining (exactly as pictured!).
