This cover commemorates Pope John Paul II's visit to St. Louis, Missouri on January 26 and 27, 1999.

The colorful cachet with official logo and special postmark was designed by Henning Communications and approved by the St. Louis Archdiocese. The envelope was printed by Franklin Printing.

The stamps on this cover (Sc# 1313, 5 cent, Poland's Millennium, Issued July 30, 1966, Sc# 1488, 8 cent, Nicolaus Copernicus, Issued April 23, 1973 and Sc# 1946, 20 cent, "C" stamp, Issued October 11, 1981) especially the 5 cent Poland's Millenium of Christianity, serve to honor the Polish Heritage of Karol Wojtyla - Actor, Philosopher, Priest, Pope. Cancellation January 26 and January 27, 1999. Enclosed in clear protective envelope.
