Solder Butt Waterproof Electrical Connector, Combined Soldering & Heat Shrink

Solder butt waterproof electrical connectors, in a choice of sizes. These handy connectors give a neat and efficient way of connecting two wires, giving a soldered connection, and a sealed heat-shrink cover to keep moisture out of the electrical connection.

To use these, first strip about 1cm of insulation from each wire to be joined. Then slighly fan out the strands of the wires so that when the are pushed together inside the solder butt connector the wire end up intertwined. Ensuring that the stripped wires are inbetween the blue glue rings, hold the assembly carefully over a hot-air gun, turning a little as you go, until the solder is melted, and also ensuring that the glue bands are melted and the sleeve is shrunk down all the way along. Then allow to cool before testing the joint.
