Dutch : AGO LIGNOSTONE TEXTILE / UPHOLSTERY BOAT SHUTTLE About 19" Long ; 844 grams !! Contains the Original Twine used to Weave Vintage Furniture (Chair Frames?) This is the real deal- I was at the estate sale of a Dutch Gentleman, whose Trade was Furniture Upholstering ! Unclear IF this was a Tool that He actually used or Not -He was in his 90's. He retired to Canada & this was mounted on his wall next to " De Meubelstoffeerder/ FURNITURE UPHOLSTERER " a Glass Etching by Artist : Gerard Swaenepoel; 18K Gold Border! -Framed Etching is being SOLD SEPARATELY -pictured here for the Providence only. This Shuttle is made of Amazing Material - See Below - A few Things that I read about this Product and the Company - Seems the Name Ago Lignostone was NOT used much after WWII - Thus this shuttle is at least that old... Interested in the Etching as Well ? Make me an Offer ! ... the company started in 1919 with a wood press. A well-known product was 'Lignostone' (stone wood). For this purpose, thin wood layers were compressed under high pressure and with the addition of synthetic resins to form a wood product that was almost as strong as steel, but much lighter. Most of this material was weaving coils (shooting coils for the textile industry) and wooden tools, but also table tops, skis and propellers for aircraft of, among others, Fokker and De Havilland .
