A Victorian gold charm designed as a miniature notebook with leaves for writing.

Engraved on one side with a floral empty cartouche

On the other with an idyllic scene of sailboats by a house. 

Dating around 1880 it is in amazing condition and formed part of a family collection.

There is light scratching on the cartouche side , about 2/3rds of the way down, possibly where is rubbed against another charm at some time.
