Vintage 1940’s primitive/ rustic Cardboard Creche with a
lithograph print background mural and 16 CELLULOID* Nativity figures.
*Celluloid
figures were produced as late as the 1950s, but the vast majority were produced
from 1900 through the 1940s. Celluloid is noticeably
light and translucent. Celluloid was often referred to as “French
Ivory” in its heyday to give it a little more snob appeal and is sometimes
marked as such.
This Nativity set includes:
1. One Creche- made of wood, cardboard, straw, lithograph
print background and light bulb with cord. It is 16.25” wide x 10” tall x 6
deep
2. 16 Celluloid Figurines range from 4.25” to 1”
tall- they are fixed.
The light and electrical cord appears to be
replacement, it came with two light bulbs, included but not guarantee – as found.
Nice Antique condition – appropriate minor wear
considering it age and use, lithograph has some wrinkles. Beautiful set. Please zoom and view all
pictures as they are part of the description and contact me if you have any
questions.
I DO MY BEST TO DESCRIBE EVERY LISTING BUT I AM NOT AN
EXPERT AND ITEMS ARE SOLD “AS IS”. My idea of great/good may
be different than yours, so EXAMINE PHOTOS CAREFULLY since they
are binding and a supplement to the word description in case I should miss
something. If I fail to mention something, it does not qualify as “item
not as described” if it shows in my pictures. EACH PHOTO IS WORTH A
THOUSAND WORDS AND THEY ARE OF THE EXACT ITEM YOU WILL RECEIVE.
