History:
This piece is out of Gary Buss' personal collection. He and his mentor discovered this rare agate near a creek and railroad south of Trent back in the summer of 1962. The find yielded only a small amount of material with no more ever found. In recent years Gary returned to the dig site to find a residential home whereas the homeowner denied Gary's request to search the owners property for more. To this day, some 60 years later it is the only documented find ever of Realgar/Stibnite/Orpiment in Quartz. The agate is still regarded as some of Oregon's most rare and beloved agates of all time.
