GAME FISHES OF THE UNITED STATES was published by the WINCHESTER PRESS in 1972. A facsimile edition of the extremely rare and expensive 1879 edition. 46 pages of text by G.B. Goode with 20 loose watercolor plates reproductions (suitable for framing) by S.A. Kilbourne on paper chemise laid-in a folding pocket on the inside of the book. a limited edition of #843/1000 copies.

The AMWELL PRESS is the publishing arm of THE NATIONAL SPORTING FRATERNITY founded in March, 1976 by Jim Rikhoff. He is well know and liked throughout the sport publishing industry as a result of his early work as founder of the WINCHESTER PRESS. S.A. Kilbourne was a noted artist who died just after completing GAME FISHES OF THE UNITED STATES, This work gave Kilbourne the opportunity to combine his two most notable talents, landscape painting and fish painting and his masterful combination resulted in a series of spectacular images. Each illustration depicts a fish either in water eating or fighting a fisherman's line, or drawn up on a hank by the waterside. The fish are amazingly vivid, their shimmering colors and delicate scales almost tangible to the viewer, enjoy.
