This sale is for what the seller believes to be an early 20th century mechanical device, possibly used to count revolutions because of the gears and Veeder Mfg counters.  The Veeder counters are marked on the side "VEEDER HARTFORD CONN. USA PATENTED OCT. 22. 1895 & AUG. 15. 1911".  The counters turn freely and are operational, and the metal gears pictured on this device are marked on the side "BOSTON H2424".  The brass handle as pictured allows the gears to turn freely. This handle will be removed for shipping and can be easily reattached by the buyer. The original use of this device is unknown to the seller, but it is a curious device for display or restoration.  The two wood blocks attached to the counters and the gears are original to the piece and have been attached to the larger piece of wood by the seller.  The larger wood base measures 17 1/2 inches in length, 2 1/2 inches front to back and 1 inch in thickness. This device was found in a shattered wooden box that had no markings on it. Study the pictures carefully as there are no returns. This seller does not ship internationally except through the Global Shipping Program.
