The item is sold as is, as found and as you see it. The item is a carved roadrunner on base. It has a stamp on one of the sides saying roadrunner by Jim Kuik. This may be a rare carving by this artist. The man who carved this probably carved it in the mid 1980s. There is very little information on this man; he may not have been a prolific carver. I have tried finding other comparable items and can find nothing available for sale by him. The item may be carved from a base wood. Light wood and light colored. The carving almost has dark lines in the recessed areas as if it were wood burned; I cant explain. Finely detailed feathers, etc... He has painted the feet assuming the base is a separate component that is attached together. The base has kinds of rock like structures; hand carved/handpainted. Its in good condition. Overall, the item appears well cared for except dusty and dirty in crevices like the base. An amazing piece for a wood bird carving collector. I've had it stored for years so I"m selling so somebody can enjoy it instead of being in a box. Has a felt covering on underside; zoom in to see pics. A few splits in the front of the base; could be intentional and made that way. Measures 8"
 X 13.5" X  5".
