Issued December 20, 1951, this is one from a set of stamps to mark the Eighth Centenary of Franciscus Gratianus. He was a noted Italian Canonist and the founder of the science of Canon Law. Gratianus was a monk and taught in the Convent of San Felici in Bologna. His great work is the Decretum Gratiani. This is a scarce stamp in MNH condition with an XF/S condition.
