Up for your consideration is a Old English Staffordshire Ware plate featuring Monticello, the home of Thomas Jefferson - author of the Declaration of Independence and the Third President of the United States. The design is executed in pink transferware, with an image of Monticello in the center of the plate and a wide floral border. The back of this plate tells us that it is a reproduction of an original design by Wedgwood.

The plate measures 10 1/4 inches across, and weighs 1 pound, 7 5/8 ounces.

The bottom is marked: MONTICELLO - Home of Thomas Jefferson, Author of the Declaration of Independence. Third President of the United States. - "Equal and exact justice to all men . . . Peace, commerce, and honest friendship with all nations, entangling alliances with none." The plate is in excellent, like-new condition, with no chips, cracks, or crazing. There are no signs of wear or use.
