Kodak 33a View Camera - Antique 5x7 Large Film Format - See Photos and Description

This wooden camera is many decades old, this model was introduced in 1933 but I can't date this specific example. Purchased from Goodwill, I used this camera to experiment with large format photography. But I'm finding that kind of photography too expensive. This camera works as intended, the bellows has no cracks or punctures, just dusty. The various controls move the camera as expected. Along the frame for the sheet holders one piece of wood is cracked. I repaired it with wood glue, but it is a weak point. Be careful when loading your holder, not to stress that spot. I made one improvement to the camera, I took a Fresnel page reader, cut it to size to fit the ground glass. This makes viewing your shots brighter. This can easily be removed by the purchaser if they desire. The lens board is homemade, cut for Copal #1. It's not great, to be honest, and the camera could use a tighter holding mechanism for the lens board. The wood has scratches and marks, and the metal isn't clean. There are also two pieces of old tape marking the extent of the rearward travel.

Notes on squareness of the camera: the rear standard swings horizontally by about 1mm in one direction and the front standard falls on the left side by about 1mm. Also, the base rail has a curve of about 2-3mm. Be aware this is an old camera made of mostly wood and some metal. The standards don't have as great a range of movement as a modern camera.

I also have sheet film holders for sale as another listing, I can combine if someone is interested. These have been sold.

Will ship in a box while in it's closed position. Shipping will include a combined amount of bubble wrap, packing peanuts, air bubbles, and foam.
