REPLACING UKULELE TUNERS
There are three different type so ukulele tuners. Friction pegs are the most simple, the other two types, geared and planetary are more expensive but also more precise and hold the tuning better.
It is ideal to match up the tuners with the diameter of the holes in the headstock. If this is not possible the holes can be reamed out to suit the tuners.
The other consideration is the thickness of the head of the ukulele, it is important that this is within the range where the tuners will work effectively.
