This TX-40 has full functionality - both the radio and cassette player are working fine and it's in great shape. It is modular - the two speakers (the right-hand speaker houses the radio) are detachable from the center unit. This machine has good volume and the AM/FM reception is strong. The antenna is straight and the (2) battery tubes are corrosion-free. There is another version of this model - the Diatone TX-10. Mitsubishi Electric Corp., controlled a company/trademark called Diatone and marketed and sold a 'TX' re-badged. The TX-40 and TX-10 are identical.
