Antique silver French firefighters medal of honour medal"for long service" with original ribbon. Dating to pre ww1 era this silver medal depicts a laurel crowned Art Nouveau lady on one side with the inscription Republique Francais and the name of the medallist Oscar Roty. On the obverse it depicts a seated classical lady with pen and scroll ready to write down the name of the firefighter who is being honored with the medal and the inscription Ministere de Interieur Sapeurs Pompiers 1900. This medal was first instituted on February 16th 1900. The side is marked with argent the French word for silver.
