20 lbs of Activated Alumina Dessicant in two 10lb bags shipped in a USPS large flat rate box. This can be used for many things like drying spaces such as closets and cupboards, in SCUBA gear, for water or air filtration, drying flowers or just about anything that needs to be dried fast and kept that way.

I personally use this to dry my wood blanks and to keep them dry for extended periods of time. This is an absolutely necessary item for removing the moisture from small to medium sized wood blanks in preparation for a fine penetrating finish, or more importantly for resin stabilization because if you don't remove the moisture completely it can't fully absorb the resin and give you a high quality product.

This is a powerful dessicant that will remove virtually all of the moisture from wood blanks. I have personally used this stuff to dehydrate blanks up to 3" thick and maybe 18" or so in length in ten days or so under most circumstances. It will work with much larger items and you would need a large container full, but the larger the blank, the better chance it will crack badly so I don't reccommend it unless the wood has been seasoned for a while first. I use it for blocks up to 3x3x12 but mostly for 1" thick stock and am impressed with how well it works compared to common silica gel dessicant. Please see my line of rechargeable cloth activated alumina drying bags in my store, which makes it even easier to use this stuff!

To use, just put the activated alumina in a bucket, bin or a large plastic bag, place the wood blank(s) in it and seal it. If you weigh the blanks prior to beginning the process you can weigh and compare daily until the weight no longer changes, then you know it is ready to go into the resin.

This dessicant is made in the USA and is new product, never used. It is useful for water purification, scuba air filtration, drying flowers, wood and other items for crafts or even for just keeping things dry in general. It can be recharged and used over and over again simply by putting it in a large baking pan and placing it in an oven at up to 500 degrees for several hours.

This is the same stuff that sells for $5 to $10 per pound on the internet. I purchased over 1,000 lbs at a good price so I'll share the savings with you.

This is heavy and expensive to ship so there will be no returns on this product. Please do not purchase if this is a problem for you.
